VIA DOLOROSA + HAPPY EASTER

I was shooting the Via Dolorosa play tonight here at Pori. It went through some city streets, beginning from the city hall and ending at the (main) church. The whole thing was pretty well done, and there were thousands of people watching it. I have never really shot anything like this before. It was interesting and challenging. Constantly trying to figure out what’s going to happen next and finding a good spot, angle and some light – and not being in front of the video camera crew and in general keeping up with the whole thing. The lights were ok for the audience, but really harsh for the camera. And of course Jesus was wearing white and being in the light beams a lot. That left the shadow areas really really dark. Very strong contrasts.. and despite the lights I shot the whole thing on some really high iso settings, low shutter speeds and lense wide open. In addition I used flash on some of the shots too.
I wish to shoot something like this in the future too. Good for practicing.. umm.. well.. everything :D
