So I felt like going to see the river bonfire after all. Weather was nice and I’m feeling good :) The sun is getting up again now that I’m writing this. Not that it went too down at any point. It would be nice to be in Lapland where it really doesn’t go down at all. In our latitudes it won’t get totally dark either. Just love this time of the year. The air seems to be full of this strange energy – at least on a night like this.

It was nice to be the snapshotter tonight. No pressures to take good shots, just snapping away. I think that I chose the wrong side of the river and I didn’t have long enough lense, but it doesn’t matter tonight, nothing does :)
Miikka is at work. He always is when all other finns are out celebrating something (christmas, vappu, midsummer – you name it). I feel bad for him, but can’t really do anything. Except be very nice when he comes home in a few hours. Though I’m sure I’ll be asleep when that happens, but one can’t be nothing but sweet when one is asleep, right? Hummm.. I wonder if I have the energy tomorrow to go shoot something in the evening. We’ll see :) And once more, happy midsummer everyone!

Oh, almost forgot.. I snapped one more for my balcony series after coming home. I didn’t even need a tripod, it was so light out there. I cranked the iso to the highest setting, used biggest aperture possible and a rather slow but still hand heldable shutter speed. When I took a nightshot for the series last fall the shutter speed was 30secs.. I checked the image data on Lightroom and tonight at 00:50 there’s two steps more light than there was on October 9th at 20:06. Here’s a link to the post with that shot (it’s the last shot in the series). Umm.. I have to admit that in larger size the image is rather grainy and I would have needed a tripod but felt too lazy to use one :D Now I’m going to bed, good night!
